Dear Friends, some years ago, I realised that my chance of following a personal path and producing some true original music, was to find a way to connect to this magical line that unites the past with the present and the future. Trying to be part of something that is beyond ego but has everything to do with personal experience, trying to be part of a collective lineage that continues through time and history, is leading, step by step, to this connecting "line" I just mentioned.
This record captures a moment of this endless seek for this sacred connection.
The compositions are inspired by old rebetika songs and are a small contribution to the music of my routes and my way to honour the people who created this music during the 20's and the 30's. For me, this music represents a life that is free of anxiety. Is unexpected, is open to new directions and surprises, in and out of control, truthful, honest, uncompromising and passionate, celebrating its gains and losses, its love and straggle.. Thank you for listening
